Vehicles and heavy equipment auctions draw interested buyers


Westchester County has been running public auctions for vehicles and heavy equipment f or more than 25 years.

The county sells vehicles that are not economically feasible for the county to repair. These auctions draw owners of body repair shops, taxi cab companies, wrecking companies and private citizens who find it worth their while to fix and restore these vehicles or to use them for the parts or their metal content.

Vehicle auctions will take place at the Westchester County Bureau of Purchase and Supplies located at 375 Executive Blvd., Elmsford, NY 10523. Vehicles are located at a different site at the Westchester County Central Garage, 38 Brockway Place, White Plains, NY. Interested bidders are strongly encouraged to inspect vehicles and equipment prior to the auction date and bidding commences. Appointments are recommended and may be arranged by contacting Steve Connor at (914) 995-4961 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

All equipment and vehicles are sold "where is, as is." And, the county reserves the right to add or remove vehicles and/or equipment from the auction list.

Our last Public Vehicle Auction was held on Friday, October 24th, 2008. Currently there are no onsite public auctions scheduled. Check back for future on site public auction dates.
